Send Files to Clients. Know the Moment They're Opened.
Upload files or whole folders, choose who receives them, and share a secure link. No account needed on their end — just a link, a download, and a trail showing exactly what happened.
Sending Files Shouldn't Feel Riskier Than Collecting Them
You've solved how clients send things to you. But what about the contracts, reports, and proposals you need to send them?
- ✕Large files get rejected or stuck in someone's email size limit
- ✕Sensitive contracts sit in an inbox with no password, no expiry, no trail
- ✕You have no idea if the client has actually opened what you sent
- ✕A generic cloud-storage link works, but it's not branded and feels impersonal
- ✕Sharing a whole project's worth of files means ten separate email attachments
- ✕Old shared links stay active forever — no way to revoke access automatically
- ✓Send files of any size through a secure link — no email attachment limits
- ✓Add password protection and an expiration date for sensitive documents
- ✓Get notified the moment a recipient views or downloads your files
- ✓Every transfer goes out through your own branded GatherMonk workspace
- ✓Share a whole folder at once — recipients see one organized view, not ten links
- ✓Set an expiry date and access switches off automatically — no manual cleanup
The Outbound Side of GatherMonk
Requests collects information from clients. Transfers sends files to them. Same secure workspace, same branded experience, opposite direction — so you no longer need a separate tool just for sharing files.
Drop In Files, Pick Recipients, Done
Upload one file or fifty, then choose exactly who receives them — one person or a whole list. GatherMonk generates a unique, secure link for the transfer and sends it out automatically, with no size limits to fight against.
- ✓Upload individual files or entire folders in one go
- ✓Share with one recipient or many in the same transfer
- ✓No email attachment size limits to work around
Share a Whole Folder, Not Ten Separate Links
When you're sharing an ongoing set of files — every asset for a client, every deliverable for a project — share the whole folder at once. The recipient sees one organized, portal-style view instead of a flat pile of attachments, and can come back to it any time the same way they would with a Client Portal.
- ✓Recipients see a structured folder view, not a single download link
- ✓One-click email login — no password, but they can return to it later
- ✓Add more files to the same folder later without sending a new link
Add a Password, Set an Expiry — Or Don't
Every transfer goes out through a unique, secure link by default. For sensitive files — contracts, financial documents, anything that shouldn't stay accessible forever — add a password and an automatic expiration date so the link deactivates itself on schedule.
- ✓Optional password protection on top of the secure link
- ✓Set an expiration date — access switches off automatically
- ✓Extend or revoke any transfer manually at any time
Know Exactly What Happened, Without Asking
Stop sending a file and wondering if it ever got opened. Every transfer shows you, in real time, whether the recipient has viewed the link, downloaded individual files, or finished downloading everything — right from your dashboard.
- ✓See viewed, partially downloaded, and fully downloaded status per recipient
- ✓Per-file download tracking on multi-file and folder transfers
- ✓Live dashboard view across every active transfer at once

Transfers FAQ
What is the difference between Transfers and Requests?
Requests is for collecting documents and information from clients — it's inbound. Transfers is for sending files to clients, partners, or prospects — it's outbound. They live in the same GatherMonk workspace and are often used together: collect documents with Requests, then deliver finished work, contracts, or proposals back with Transfers.
Does the recipient need to create an account to receive a transfer?
For a single file or a small set of files, no — the recipient clicks the link and downloads directly, with no account or password required by default. For a folder transfer, the recipient logs in with a one-click email link, the same way GatherMonk's Client Portal works, so there is still no password to remember even though they're accessing a structured folder view.
Can I share a folder of files instead of individual files?
Yes. You can organize files into folders before sharing, and the recipient sees a portal-style folder view rather than a flat list. This is useful when you're sharing an ongoing set of related files — for example, all assets for one client or one project — that the recipient may need to come back to more than once.
Can I password-protect a transfer or set an expiration date?
Yes, both are available as part of GatherMonk's higher-tier plans. Password protection adds a second layer of security beyond the unique link itself, and expiration dates automatically deactivate the link after a set period — useful for sensitive files like contracts or financial documents that shouldn't remain accessible indefinitely.
Will I know when someone has viewed or downloaded the files I sent?
Yes. GatherMonk notifies you automatically when a recipient views the transfer, when they download an individual file, and when they've downloaded everything in the transfer. You can also check the live status of any transfer from your dashboard at any time.
What happens when a transfer expires?
Once a transfer reaches its expiration date, the link is automatically deactivated and the recipient can no longer access the files. Both you and the recipient receive a notification before and after expiration, so there are no surprises — and you can extend or resend a transfer if needed.
Is there a limit to how many people I can share a transfer with?
No. You can share a single transfer with any number of recipients — useful for sending the same set of files to multiple stakeholders at once, such as sharing event materials with every exhibitor or distributing a finished report to several reviewers.
